1400 Location of a prehistoric Hohokam Indian village

1699  Indian village visited by Father Kino

1744 Indian village visited by Spanish Captain Anza

1846 The Mormon Battalion built Cook's Wagon Road through area

1858  Gila Bend was a stagecoach stop on Butterfield Stage Line

1879 Railroad came through area, town moved south to the tracks

1929 Dirt road became a paved highway

1973  Interstate 8 was built with Gila Bend exits 119 & 115
